Through a peculiar turn of events, my closest and most alcoholic friends and I recently had the great pleasure of sampling a bottle Kanon Organic Vodka.
I drink vodka but I am no expert so I really don’t know much about the intricacies of one brand versus another. Some are derived from potatoes, some from wheat…they get you drunk and they have fewer calories and carbs than other drink choices; that’s about the extent of my knowledge on the subject.
I judge the quality of my vodka by the severity of my hangover. Trial and error have aligned me with three go-to brands: Kettle One, Tito’s and Prairie Organics.
Kanon, as the name would suggest, is an organic vodka which wins it a ton of cool points in my book; it’s good to patronize environmentally conscious businesses whenever you have the chance. Especially if you can get hammered in the process. Anyway, Kanon is fantastic and perhaps even my new “favorite vodka”. I can’t tell you about the subtle nuances of the flavor but it’s smooth as hell, easy to drink and my hangover the next morning was virtually non-existent. Kanon wins.
Even their Creative is cool and engaging; it was done by the 88 out of NYC. Now, if only I didn’t have to travel to New York, LA or San Francisco to get it…
