“Brooklyn Boheme” a film by author and filmmaker Nelson George and documentary filmmaker Diane Paragas is a nostalgic look at a moment in time when a core group of young, educated, fiercely talented, Black and Latino artists in Fort Greene Brooklyn, permanently re-shaped our cultural landscape.
The film has been described as “a funny, joyous look at a time and place with charismatic storytellers and dazzling photography telling this amazing story.” I could not agree more and was thrilled, not only because the movie is supremely entertaining but because I happened to catch it on Showtime. Props to Showtime for an outstanding programming choice.
